You’re not bad, you’re not good.

I’ve had so many chats recently that followed the same path…

I’ve shared basic nutritional principles with clients.

They respond:  “Oh I’m REALLY bad at the moment!” or “I was SO bad when I went out yesterday because I ate a pizza”

I just want you to know that you’re not bad and you’re not good.

You’re just you.

Imagine a world where you don’t consider yourself ‘bad’ if you choose to have a pizza one Friday night. Imagine if you stopped shaping a world for yourself where you feel like you can only be one of two things - good or bad.

“If you keep framing your behaviour as this overly simplified view between two extremes - either good or bad, you’re constantly going to be using this arbitrary yardstick to validate your choices.

Then more often than not, you’ll be stuck in a loop of frustration.

Here’s an alternative…

How about you equip yourself with information that allows you make healthiest choices you can, as often as you can, given your resources (time, money) and the information you have in front of you (nutritional principles and scientific facts).

Then when your brain says “I’m bad”, another voice can respond and say: “I’m doing the best I can under my circumstances”.

You’re doing the best you can with the resources, headspace and information you have in front of you.
